Car of the Month

George Moses's EB5 4-speed GTX with white and blue interior

I have owned this car for 35 years.  I bought it for $1500.00, and complained that it was to much money for the car.  On one of my weekend runs of 150 mph I dropped a lifter and parked the  car by my mothers house.  I bought another car and started buy parts for the new car having fun. Years later on one of my frequent visits to the speed shop the owner gave me some news.  He said I know you like mopars, I think i found one. There is this b body mopar a road runner or something. It is over by the river by the projects. It  has been sitting there for some time. I looked at him and smiled, he was talking about my 1970 gtx. I went and got my car and started buying parts for it.

My brother worked for a towing company and the mechanic there told him he would rebuild my motor for $100.00 if I bought all the parts. It took 2 years and I ended up with a 1970 gtx with a 509 purple shaft cam. That is one of the best cams in its class. The motor lasted for 14 years of hard runs.

I am now in the process of building a 500 cubic in stroker motor for it. This will be a present for  my retirement this year. I gave this car to my brother twice. He gave it back both times. I guess we are destined to go the long haul. Photo 1 is when I first bought the car with keystone rims. The other photos are now with crager mags and micky thompson tires.

The options ordered on this car included power steering, front buddy seat, remote driver door mirror, clock and tach, air-grabber hood, chrome door edge trim, AM radio and all tinted windows.
